Our Residences

The Any Length complex features 32 fully furnished two-bedroom apartments. New residents begin in a three-person apartment with a senior resident guiding them through their first phase. In the second phase, residents can move to a two-person apartment with a private bedroom. All apartments include shared living spaces, such as a living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom, which are all fully equipped with cookware, utensils, and dinnerware. Residents take responsibility for cooking, cleaning, shopping, and maintaining the grounds, fostering independence and life skills.

Your Day At Any Length Recovery

We begin each day with “morning meditation” to set a positive tone for the rest of the day

Meetings are held throughout the day and evening to fit all schedules, offering residents meaningful content they look forward to.

Residents go to their places of employment in the Sumter area in safe, reliable transportation.

When residents return home, they’re welcomed by a supportive atmosphere. Conversations flow and someone is always ready to listen.

Our Housing

BUDGET

Friendly

Our men's housing typically houses 65 individuals and our women’s housing houses 20 individuals at any given time. We had to learn to live sober. Daily life without substances didn’t come naturally – things like getting up for work, cooking, paying bills, showing up for others, and learning how to live in community were skills we had to relearn. Our men’s and women’s housing provides structure, accountability, and a safe place to learn life again.

The friendships made here are different. They are forged in honesty, late-night talks, shared chores, and showing up for each other. These relationships become family, the kind that last long after someone moves on.

Transitional Housing

When a resident begins the next chapter or next phase, our Transitional Housing gives residents a safe, supportive place to continue growing while they gain confidence, independence, and stability in early recovery.

We offer three transitional homes: Philips Place (sleeps 7 men), Marty Mann (sleeps 4 men), and The Last House on the Block (sleeps 4 women). Each house gives residents the chance to acclimate to life outside of ALR while staying surrounded by peers who understand the recovery journey. It’s a time to find balance – between freedom and responsibility, community and independence.

During this phase, residents can:

  • Transition back into family life

  • Explore career paths

  • Go back to school or pursue training opportunities

  • Dating and learning how to have healthy relationships

  • Have a car and a phone

  • Stay active in their 12-step recovery groups
